6.5 months
Here's the latest on Kanon. He's cutting his first teeth, both bottom middle teeth. He babbles all the time or at least with Kurt and I. He seems to get quieter around other people and when he's not in his own environment. As soon as we get home he's back to his normal wild self running (in his walker) all over the place and screaming and making all kinds of noises. I think he gets that from me. He rolls over all the time both directions. Some days he acts like he can't but it's just because he doesn't want to. He can sit by himself very well, still falls every once in a while but has gotten pretty good. He can even look up at the fan or above him and not topple over. We expect him to be crawling anytime this week. He's been up on his knees rocking A LOT this weekend. Last week he was on all fours and moved his knees. Today he moved his hand for the first time. Any day now he'll figure out how to get them all going at the same time. Life is about to change drastically!! He can grab our hands and pull himself to a sitting position and then to stand up on his own. Which by the way makes baths a little harder now that he's learned to grab the side of the tub and stand up. He knows how to shake his head back and forth to say "no" but he doesn't really know what he's doing or what it means. He's always got a smile on his face when he does it though. Go figure! He has learned there are things in the house he's not allowed to touch and today we caught him about to touch it and stopped to look at me and decided to move away from it instead. He's already so smart. He laughs and smiles all the time, usually a very happy baby. He loves the dogs and terrorizes them by ramming them with the walker. He can blow raspberries and make clicking noises with his tongue. Some days that's all he'll do and just cover you in spit and then other days he'll just refuse to do it at all. Bananas, peaches, peas, green beans and squash seem to be his favorites so far. He loves his sippy cup and does a good job of drinking from it. Some water he actually drinks but most he spits out like a waterfall. We think he just likes the cold water on his sore gums. It seems to make him happy though. Like most babies he's rather flexible and can stick his toes in his mouth to suck on them. Amazing and weird all at once. He is sleeping through the night again....for now (knock on wood)! I'm sure that will be different next week though. Just when things fall into a schedule the little booger decides to grow or change somehow and it all goes out the window.

Laying Around "Talking"
This is kinda long, but basically just Kanon laying on the floor "talking" and making all kinds of noises. I find it pretty entertaining myself. He was clearly keeping Wrigley awake.

Kanon Rolls Over
Kanon rolled over to his side and then back for the first time by himself yesterday. Luckily I had the camera taping him playing when he did it so that his Daddy could see him do it for the first time. The first clip is the first time he did it ALL by himself. The second clip actually happened first but I think I might have helped him a little bit or at least encouraged the roll. The second clip shows him at his best. Smiling, sucking his hand, looking at Wrigley and of course farting. Enjoy, I know we sure do!
More rolling and playing...

The NEW House
Wrigley and Pepper are adjusting well to the new house too. Wrigley came to the house first when we were painting the day before we moved and I haven't seen him happier in a long time. He was running and prancing all over the house, even playing!! Once we moved in and had both dogs in the house, the 2 of them ran all over scoping the place out. Wrigley looks amazing too. I'm convinced he's allergic to something in or around the old house. Only a week or two before we moved Wrigley had a really bad day and some serious scratching turned into a blood bath...literally. An hour trip to the store and I returned to what looked like a scene from CSI with blood all over my kitchen floor and up the walls, not to mention Wrigley. He immediately went to Jville and with the help of some medicine cleared right up. He came home the day before we moved and after only being in the house for 12 hours, he already started scratching and getting bad. Since being in the new house, he looks like a new dog. Here is Pepper in the new yard watching the construction men working on the house next door.
