The NEW House

If you don't already know, we've FINALLY moved. We closed on April 15th and moved into our brand new house in Fort Myers on April 17th. We couldn't be happier. Kurt and I have decided that Kanon is our good luck charm and brings us all good things. Including us finally moving forward in our life in a new home closer to Kurt's work (about 10 miles) where we can all be together as a family and have a life together, more than just 2 hours in the evening together like we had before. We are all still adjusting to all the new changes from a new house, new surroundings, unpacking, re-decorating and still the normal new baby kinds of things. We are very happy though and I think I can speak for both Kurt and myself when I say this feels like a new start to life with all the changes and what we see as a big step forward in the positive direction for us.Kurt is getting to spend more time studying, working, more quality time with Kanon, me and the dogs. Not to mention even though there are frequent diaper changes throughout the night, he still probably gets more sleep. The house is one-story and just about the same size as our previous one with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. It's a brand new house in a nice neighborhood convenient to the interstate, pretty much any store you really need and the big one, Kurt's work. It's a gated community and our house is probably one of the smallest ones in the neighborhood. I'm sure we look like the poor kids on the block with our Mazda and Ford parked in the driveway. Even so, the few people we have passed by in our walks and evening joggs, all seem very friendly.Kanon is doing great as well, adjusting well to the new house. I'm sure he doesn't even really know what's goin on, but I haven't heard any complaints either. He's eating and sleeping well and is more alert now to things around him. This makes it more fun too since I can get him to smile and look at toys and that kind of thing. He's a big fan of actual fans and looking out the window. He loves the bath too. His room is officially set up and painted the way I really wanted and imagined from the beginning, thanks to the help of my mom. It looks great and I'm really happy with it. I still have unpacking and a little more organizing to do, but it's getting there.

Wrigley and Pepper are adjusting well to the new house too. Wrigley came to the house first when we were painting the day before we moved and I haven't seen him happier in a long time. He was running and prancing all over the house, even playing!! Once we moved in and had both dogs in the house, the 2 of them ran all over scoping the place out. Wrigley looks amazing too. I'm convinced he's allergic to something in or around the old house. Only a week or two before we moved Wrigley had a really bad day and some serious scratching turned into a blood bath...literally. An hour trip to the store and I returned to what looked like a scene from CSI with blood all over my kitchen floor and up the walls, not to mention Wrigley. He immediately went to Jville and with the help of some medicine cleared right up. He came home the day before we moved and after only being in the house for 12 hours, he already started scratching and getting bad. Since being in the new house, he looks like a new dog. Here is Pepper in the new yard watching the construction men working on the house next door.
